OMELETTE OPTIMISM. The phrase 'you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs' certainly applies to the arts. Because in order to make art one has to break old habits and let go of big and small expectations, either the worldly, materialistic ones and especially those of your own perception and principles. And all that, not knowing what will come out of all your effort, not knowing if your project will be rewarding in any way. But still artists make artworks, organize and install shows and festivals. Against all odds and common sense. That's what I call omelette optimism.

Tegen beter weten in. Dit noem ik 'omelette optimism'.
